Questions we hear a lot
Straight answers about quotes, coverage, claims, and working with an independent agent. Don't see yours? Call us.
Working with Us
Is an independent agent more expensive than going direct?
No. Carriers pay us a commission that is built into the premium either way, so there is no fee to you. Because we quote several companies, we can often find a better price for the same coverage.
Do you charge for quotes or policy reviews?
No. Quotes and policy reviews are always free, with no obligation.
Which towns do you serve?
Our office is in Norton, and we help clients across Massachusetts, including Mansfield, Easton, Attleboro, Taunton, Raynham, Foxborough, and nearby towns.
What are your office hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can request a quote online anytime.
Quotes and Policy Reviews
What do I need to get a quote?
Basic details about you and what you want covered: drivers and vehicles for auto, the property address and a few details for home, or what your business does. Your current declarations page helps us compare apples to apples.
How long does a quote take?
The online form takes a few minutes. We follow up with options after we have compared carriers.
Can you review the policy I already have?
Yes. Upload your declarations page through our policy review form. We will check your limits, deductibles, and gaps, and tell you honestly whether a change makes sense.
Will switching insurance companies leave a gap in my coverage?
Not if it is timed correctly. We line up the new policy to start the same day the old one ends, and help you cancel the old one properly.
Auto Insurance
What auto coverage is required in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts requires four compulsory coverages: bodily injury to others, personal injury protection (PIP), bodily injury caused by an uninsured auto, and damage to someone else's property. The minimum limits are low, so most drivers are better protected with higher limits.
How do I cancel my Massachusetts plates?
Cancel your registration with the RMV first, online or at a service center, and keep the Registration Cancellation Receipt. Send us a copy and we will cancel the policy. Do not cancel your insurance before the registration, or the RMV can revoke it.
How can I lower the cost of adding a teen driver?
Ask about good-student and driver-training discounts, think about which car they are rated on, and compare carriers, since each prices young drivers differently.
Home and Flood
Does home insurance cover flooding?
No. Standard home and condo policies exclude flood damage from rising water. Flood insurance is a separate policy, available through the NFIP or private carriers.
How much dwelling coverage do I need?
Enough to rebuild your home at today's construction costs. That can be very different from what you paid or what the home would sell for.
Can you work with my mortgage lender or closing attorney?
Yes. We send the binder and evidence of insurance directly to your lender or closing attorney.
Business Insurance
What insurance does a Massachusetts small business need?
Most need general liability or a business owner's policy, workers' compensation if they have employees, and commercial auto if vehicles are used for work.
Do I need workers' comp with only one employee?
In Massachusetts, almost all employers must carry workers' compensation, including those with part-time employees.
Can you issue certificates of insurance?
Yes. We issue certificates for landlords, clients, and general contractors, including additional insured wording when your policy allows it.
Claims
What should I do after an accident or loss?
Make sure everyone is safe, document the damage with photos, prevent further damage if you can, and call us or your carrier's claims line. Our claims page has step-by-step help.
Should I call you or the insurance company first?
Either works. Many carriers take claims 24/7, so call them if it is after hours. Let us know too, and we will help you through it.
Billing
How do I pay my bill?
Most carriers let you pay online or in their app. Our carriers page links to each company's billing site, or call us and we will help.
Ready to see what you could save?
It takes about three minutes, and there's no cost or obligation.
