A business owner's policy: property and liability in one

A BOP bundles the core coverages most small businesses need into one policy, usually for less than buying them separately.

What a BOP policy can include

  • Commercial property

Covers your building (if you own it), equipment, inventory, and furniture.

  • General liability

Protects you if a customer is injured or you damage someone else's property.

  • Business income

Replaces lost income and pays ongoing expenses if a covered loss shuts you down temporarily.

  • Optional add-ons

Equipment breakdown, data breach, hired and non-owned auto, and more.

Coverage varies by carrier and policy. We'll walk you through exactly what yours includes.

Business Owner's Policy insurance questions

Does my business qualify for a BOP?

Most small and mid-sized offices, shops, restaurants, and contractors do. Some higher-risk operations need separate policies. We'll tell you which fits.

Does a BOP include workers' comp or commercial auto?

No. Those are separate policies. Most Massachusetts businesses with employees need workers' comp too.

Can I get a certificate of insurance quickly?

Yes. We issue certificates for landlords, clients, and general contractors, usually the same business day.
